Christopher Sowick, Trammell Crow Company, was honored with the Brendan McCarthy Memorial Award for extraordinary commitment to charitable work in the local community at the Greater Washington Commercial Association of REALTORS^® (GWCAR) Awards Dinner on Thursday, March 23 at the Four Seasons in Georgetown.

Sowick has volunteered countless hours for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), DC Metro Chapter. The Foundation exists to assure the development of the means to cure and control CF and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. This organization holds a particular clarity for Chris and his wife, because their son has the condition.

The Sowicks have been extremely dedicated in their fundraising efforts for the CFF. They have been the leading organizers of grassroots fundraising events such as a Bowl-A-Thon, a recent Walk-A-Thon, and a corporate golf tournament, and have raised nearly $100,000 for the organization. As a member of GWCAR's Community Involvement Committee, Sowick was instrumental in having a portion of the proceeds from the association's 2005 Golf Tournament go towards the CFF as well. He is also actively involved with the World Champion McClean Softball Little League and Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
