Bill Prutting Named WDCAR REALTOR^® of the Year

1999 GWCAR President Bill Prutting of CB Richard Ellis was named WDCAR REALTOR ^®of the Year for 2000. Bill has held a variety of leadership roles in REALTOR^® organizations. He served on WDCAR's Board of Directors in 1999. Bill was Chairman of the GWCAR Awards Committee in 1999 and is currently a member of GWCAR's Editorial Advisory Board.

In addition to his involvement with REALTOR^® organizations, Bill generously gives his time to serving the community and currently serves as Treasurer for the Children's National Medical Center's Young Perspectives Council. He is also a founding member and annual contributor to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Real Estate Games.

Bill was honored for this achievement at the National Association of REALTORS^{^®} Annual Conference in San Francisco in November.

Sudden Passing of GWCAR Member

We regret to inform you that GWCAR Member James McGrath passed away suddenly on November 25. Jim was an active and long-time member of GWCAR. He was President of McGrath & Associates, Inc. and was especially noted for his knowledge of the commercial real estate market in Georgetown. Before starting McGrath & Associates, Jim worked for a number of area commercial real estate firms. Among the larger projects he worked on were Washington Harbor, Market Square and The Portals.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and daughter, Abby. A memorial service was held on December 1.
