GWCAR News: New Office for GWCAR, GWCAR Investigates CIE

GWCAR Investigates Commercial Information Exchange

A committee of GWCAR members recently reviewed options for a Commercial Information Exchange (CIE) as a source for information on commercial property for sale and lease in the Washington, DC area. In addition to developing a CIE, the committee also evaluated a new web-based product developed by CoStar. The committee was very impressed with the new CoStar product, as it includes the functions and features committee members were hoping to achieve with a GWCAR CIE.

GWCAR is currently working with CoStar on some issues related to the use of the new product, including special pricing for GWCAR members, a system of quality control, a program to train and update GWCAR members on the new product, and a potential long-term partnership that would benefit both CoStar and the association. Look for more information about this new product and relationship with CoStar from GWCAR in the near future.

GWCAR Launches New Web Site with a New Look and Functions

GWCAR released a redesigned web site with a new look and additional functions. A new Market News section features quarterly reports on the Washington commercial real estate market. GWCAR Moves to Silver Spring

GWCAR moved to its new headquarters in September. The building was recognized by the GWCAR 2001 Annual Awards Renovated Project of the Year for Suburban Maryland.
