Breakfast Meeting Round-Up
Rockville Revitalization Fifty people attended a Maryland Regional Breakfast on May 5 to learn about the redevelopment of downtown Rockville. The breakfast was held on the eighth floor of 111 Rockville Pike, an office building recently developed by Foulger-Pratt. The breakfast was sponsored by Trizec.
Clayton Foulger with Foulger-Pratt welcomed everyone. Rockville Mayor Larry Giammo described how a new pattern of streets and city blocks will be created. A new library and town square/park will be the focal point. Over 600 new apartments will be built in the area with retail on the street level of the planned buildings. Federal Realty will demolish its current retail center on North Washington Street and develop the retail portion. A yet to be named residential developer will build the apartments. Demolition and construction will commence in January 2004 and it is anticipated to take two years to complete.
Special thanks to Clayton Foulger, Mayor Larry Giammo and Trizec (2003 Maryland Regional Breakfast sponsor).
CoStar's training session for their new Web-based property database finished the GWCAR regional breakfast circuit with stops in Virginia on March 18 and in DC on May 8.
Special thanks to the CoStar team for their presentation: Andrew O'Neill, Mike Beatty and Jim Trainor.
