Peter J. Wysocki Peter J. Wysocki, 55, died June 14 at his home in Vienna, Va., of cancer. Peter was a native of Detroit and lived in the DC area for 28 years. He was Vice President of Transwestern Commercial Services, where he worked for the past 10 years. Before turning to real estate, Wysocki was the Washington Redskins' tough-guy outside linebacker and special teams player whose aggressiveness on the field terrorized opponents and thrilled fans as well as legendary coach George Allen. Survivors include his fiancee, Gretchen M. Thompson; a son, Bannon Wysocki; and a grandson, Maximus Joseph Wysocki. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna on June 20.
Thomas N. Abbonizio Thomas N. Abbonizio, 54, died July 5 while jogging in the Centreville, Va., area of a heart attack. Tom was a native of Ardmore, Pa., and lived in Clifton, Va. He had been associate director at the McLean office of Cushman & Wakefield since 1999. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing from Miami University in Ohio, and his Juris Doctor from the Delaware Law School of Widener University. After working as a lawyer, he joined the Philadelphia firm of the late Willard G. Rouse III, then transferred to Rouse & Associates' Tysons Corner office in the late 1980s. He was later vice president of marketing for Henry Long Co., where he directed development of the Westfields Corporate Center and the Marriott Westfields Conference Center in Chantilly, Va. He also developed and was a part owner of Westfields Golf Club in Clifton. Survivors include a son, Thomas N. "T.J." Abbonizio Jr. of Clifton; his parents, Guarino "Woody" Abbonizio and Pauline Abbonizio, both of Villanova, Pa.; a sister; and a brother. Visitation was held at The Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna on July 8. An additional visitation and Mass was held in Havertown, Pa., at a later date.
