Remarks from the President

Thanks to Bill Prutting's fantastic efforts in 1999, I inherit the leadership of GWCAR in its height of success! Our first ever year end with surplus savings! Membership is up; developer/owner interest and support is high; and, most importantly, active participation of members is at a record high. Every major GWCAR 1999 event was sold out. Buoyed by John Cushman's fascinating keynote address at our State of the Market, we have continued the trend thus far in 2000.

Our plans for the first year of the new millennium are aggressive:

Annual Awards dinner, April 18th at the Mayflower Hotel
RealTour, June 8th - Exploring Washington’s East End
Increased educational seminars featuring topics such as technology and real estate fundamentals for new brokers
Increased quarterly breakfast meetings and networking opportunities in the Virginia and Maryland regions
Continuation of monthly breakfast meetings in the D.C. region
Increased networking opportunities, including our popular golf outing to be held October 2nd at P.B. Dye Golf Club.

I am fortunate to have an extremely talented board of directors to assist me in the hard work required to provide you, the member, with the commercial real estate industry's premier association!
