Rosenthal Unveils Plans for New NAR Building at GWCAR Breakfast

Richard J. Rosenthal, CRE, Chief Executive Officer of The Rosenthal Group, gave a presentation about the site and selection process for the new National Association of REALTORS^® headquarters at the DC Regional Breakfast Meeting held January 15 at the Club at Franklin Square.

The building will be located at 500 New Jersey Avenue NW, will have a total of 93,000 square feet (NAR will only occupy 33,000 square feet), will be situated on the site of a former gas station and may be the first building in the District to be certified a "green" building (pending approval). Graham Grund Architects of Cambridge, MA, designed the building and CarrAmerica will provide construction management services.

According to NAR, the project will not exceed $45 million, including land acquisition and construction.

Construction of the base building is scheduled for completion in spring 2004. Occupancy is scheduled for late summer 2004.
